REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Box, Inc. (NYSE:BOX) today announced that it has made a donation of
$100,000 to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to support refugees
in conflict zones across the world, as well as refugees resettling in
cities across the U.S.
The funding will be used to help the IRC respond to humanitarian crises
in 40 countries globally and support those who look to the IRC's 29
offices across the U.S. for necessary and immediate aid. Contributions
will also support the work of IRC’s dedicated field teams, who are
crucial to ensuring clients are provided with a solid foundation to
build on and successfully integrate into American society.
“We have tremendous respect for the work of the IRC in responding to
humanitarian crises all over the world, having a real impact in the
lives of millions of people,” said Aaron Levie, cofounder and CEO of
Box. “Especially now, there is an incredible urgency to bring compassion
and tangible relief to refugees and those displaced by conflict and
disaster. At Box, we are pleased to make even a small contribution to
the cause and help the IRC achieve its mission.”
“At this time of great uncertainty for refugees around the world, it is
heartening to receive this gesture of support from our friends at Box,”
said David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue
Committee. “They have been an invaluable partner of ours over the years
and we look forward to working together to better the lives of the
world’s most vulnerable.”
“We are incredibly supportive of the IRC and its mission, said Bryan
Breckenridge, Executive Director of Box.org. “The IRC has been an
important partner for Box.org. In addition to this donation, we love
