LOS ALTOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Box (NYSE:BOX) today announced that Jeetu Patel has joined Box as senior
vice president of platform and chief strategy officer (CSO). He will
report to Box co-founder and CEO, Aaron Levie, and lead Box's platform
organization, driving the strategy for Box's platform business and
developer relations. Box’s corporate development organization, which
will continue to be led by Villi Iltchev, SVP of Corporate Development,
will report to Patel.
Mr. Patel has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise information
technology and was most recently with EMC, where he was General Manager
and Chief Executive of the company’s Syncplicity business unit. He also
previously held several leadership roles in EMC’s Information
Intelligence Group, including Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Strategy
Officer and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to EMC, Mr. Patel was
president of Doculabs, a research and advisory firm focused on
collaboration and content management across a range of industries,
including financial services, insurance, energy, manufacturing, and life
sciences.
“The Box platform is the next great growth driver for Box,” said Aaron
Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box. “Jeetu’s deep industry and operating
experience in enterprise content management and collaboration makes him
an ideal leader as Box takes the next step to extend the scope of our
platform business.”
“Box has revolutionized content management in the cloud. Its ability to
balance end user demand for simple, easy-to-adopt experiences with
enterprise-grade technology and security is unprecedented,” said Jeetu
Patel, Box’s new SVP of Platform and Chief Strategy Officer. “The Box
platform has an incredible opportunity to thrive as a business and help
third-party developers and Box’s customers create unique digital
experiences that can benefit hundreds of millions of people around the
world.”
Today, the Box platform ecosystem has grown to nearly 50,000 developers

month. More than a thousand developers attended Box Dev – the company’s
second annual developer conference – in April 2015 to learn about Box’s
